Assalamu’alaikum. First of all, I would like to make an apology to you because I take such a long time to answer (almost 7 months). Secondly, please sorry for my English. (Actually I plan to write in Malay and ‘google-translate’ it but I rather try InshaAllah) and thirdly I remind you and myself, that I am (really) not the person that qualify and capable to answer this. Maybe you should @ better ask any authoritative Islam Scholars, 'ulama or Ustaz near your place. However, I will try to answer (to write in particular) in a way so that anybody will get benefit or some sort of wisdom reading it.
Definition of taqwa
I’ll try to answer as concise (brief and meaningful) as possible.
Have you heard of one Sahabah (
I could not remember the name), of been asked what is ‘Taqwa’. and he gives such a beautiful analogy of Taqwa; of walking in a path of thorns @ obstacles, and you are being very-really careful, attentive, discreet. alert not to be hurt by one @ by them. Thus, the hikmah that I can take (understand) from this is that:Taqwa is you’re being very cautious, very wary of even the smallest things. Even you’re saying @ doing a smallest things, you are aware of Allah Existence. His Watch upon you, He is the All-Seing and Knowing. His Judgement. His Reward. (not to mention saying or doing even bigger / greater things).
Perhaps thats all I can say. Again, I really hope that you could seek assistance from a more qualified and authoritative scholars around or near you to give much accurate answer. This is just my personal opinion (from the knowledge that I have so far) and just hoping a little wisdom can be found from the writing. not more than that.
